1 Safety Information
1.1 General safety information
These
operating
instructions
information on using the vacuum pump. Please read
the operating instructions thoroughly and keep them
for later reference.
The vacuum pump may only be commissioned after
the operating instructions have been read and fully
understood.
In addition to these operating instructions, instructions
must also be provided in terms of the German "Health
and Safety at Work Act" [Arbeitsschutzgesetz] and the
German "Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health"
[Arbeitsmittelbenutzungsverordnung].
General safety regulations and European standards,
including those set by the machine manufacturers,
must be observed and adhered to.
Please observe the accident prevention regulations for
condensers,
VBG
16,
especially
"Installation" and IV "Operation" and VBG 4 "Electrical
systems and equipment". The vacuum pump may only
be modified or changed with the approval of the
manufacturer.
Installation and maintenance may only be carried out
by qualified specialist personnel.
Sudden vacuum failure may lead to hazardous
situations.
The vacuum pump may only be used for the purpose
for which it was intended.
The vacuum pump may only be operated in a
flawless, fully-functional condition.
1.2 Intended use
The vacuum pump is used for creating a vacuum.
The vacuum pump is only suitable for evacuating dry,
non-aggressive and liquid-free gases.
The figures apply to a height of 800 m above sea
level.
The pump works entirely free of oil and therefore
should not draw in any oil mist.
The ambient temperature may not exceed 45 °C.
The Multi-Clamp vacuum pump should be stored in a
dry place and the development of condensation due to
water vapor should be avoided.
2 Startup
Place the vacuum pump on an even and stable
support.
Ensure that all the connections are free of oil, grease,
water or other soiling.
There should be at least 10 cm of free space between
the device and adjacent walls, so that the air flow for
cooling is not restricted.
You must ensure that the motor fan has free suction
and the cooling air can flow out unrestricted, so that
the inner temperature does not rise too greatly.
Insert the power cable into a 230 V plug socket.
The vacuum pump is now ready for use.

3.2 Function and application
The suction pump is a dry-running rotary vane pump. It
is intended for creating the operating vacuum.
The Multi-Clamp vacuum pump must be positioned on a
stable, even surface.
Caution: Please ensure that the fan housing can be
freely vented.
If the vacuum pump is ready for operation, it can be
switched on via the power switch [9]. If the Multi-Clamp
vacuum pump is sucking against air at ambient
pressure, the manometer [2] shows a vacuum level of 0.

Caution: If the filter [6] is very dirty, the maximum
possible end vacuum will not be reached.
Caution: During operation, the housing cover can heat
up to 100 °C. Long contact with skin may cause burns.
To release the workpiece, the power switch [9] must be
switched off and the system vented at ambient pressure.
The pump should be switched off before removing the
plug [10] of the device from the plug socket.
0 = OFF
Caution: Please note that the vacuum pump switches
off automatically if overloaded and switches back on
automatically once it has cooled down.
Caution: vacuum pump may not be switched on and off
more than 10 times per hour.
