5 Maintenance and Care
Through regular maintenance of your vacuum pump,
your work results will be optimized. Maintenance
intervals depend upon the application and environmental
conditions.
Maintenance of the vacuum pump may only be carried
out by qualified specialist personnel.
Before starting any maintenance work, remove the plug
[10] to avoid accidentally switching the pump back on.
Depending on the degree of contamination, the filter [6]
should be cleaned. To do this, unscrew the filter cover
[3] and blast the filter insert clean with pressurized air.
The rotary vanes are subject to wear caused by abrasion
against the housing. For this reason, the rotary vanes
should be checked at an interval of 3000 hours for
consistency in their dimensions. To do this, unscrew the
housing cover [5] as described and remove the vanes.
The width A of a vane must measure at least 11 mm.
When replacing the vanes clean the housing with dry,
pressurized air.
Caution: The housing cover [5] can become hot during
pump operation. This could result in burns.

The rolling contact bearings included in the Multi-
Clamp vacuum pump have a life-time lubrication and
thus require no maintenance. The bearings may only be
replaced by the manufacturer and only with original
replacement parts.
The filter insert included in the wearing parts set can be
inserted after the housing cover has been removed and
the designated chamber has been cleaned, as described
below.
Caution: The filter insert is not always included in all
variants of the extent of delivery of the Multi-Clamp
vacuum pump. This can however be upgraded at any
time.
