2 .1 Scope of application

Caution!
Damage to the cutting mechanism!
The machine must only be used to shred
paper, CD's, DVD's and credit cards .
Shredding other sorts of data carriers may
cause damage to the machine (e.g. damage
to the cutters etc.).
The intimus 2500 S / 2500 C data shredder is a ma-
chine used for shredding general documents and data
carriers such CD's, DVD's and credit cards.

2 .2 Installation

1 . The shredder should be placed on a flat level sur-
face.
2 . Connect the machine to the power with the plug
(for instructions for the necessary precautions see
„Technical data", p. 12).

Operation

Caution!
Danger of injury!
The shredder may not be used as a step
ladder or as a seat. Danger of falling due to
breakage!

= Pushbutton switch „ready" (fig . 1)

Depress this switch to start the machine or to stop
the machine.
2 = Rocker switch (forward / reverse) (fig . 1)
This switch is for the following functions:
" " position: The cutting system operates.
" " position: The cutting system runs in reverse.
= Pilot lamp „receptacle full" - 2500 C (fig . 1)

Lights when the receptacle is full and needs to be
emptied. At the same time the machine switches
off automatically.
4 = Pilot lamp „reverse" - 2500 S (fig . 1)
Lights up when the cutting system is switched to
reverse running.
5 = Pilot lamp „receptacle missing" (fig . 1)
Lights up when the receptacle is not placed pro-
perly under the machine. The machine is switched
