How to set the timer function and the twilight threshold
How to set the timer function and the twilight threshold
Use the rotary switches (Figure > T1 and T2) to set the times at which
ARGUS is to do something other than simply detect movement. Outside
of the times set, ARGUS reacts to movements as normal.
The possible applications of this are described below. For all applications,
use the rotary switch (Figure >C) to set the Brightness threshold from
which level ARGUS is to detect movements. Depending on the
application in question, you must set the rotary switch C either on the
left side (mode 1) or on the right side (mode 2) in the area between the
sun symbol and the moon symbol (Figure •). The exact setting is best
calculated by trying it out at dawn or dusk.
Application example 1: ARGUS is only to switch loads on when it
detects movements.
1 Turn the rotary switch T1 to "A".
2 Turn the rotary switch C to the range "mode 1".
Application example 2: ARGUS is to switch loads on at certain
times, even without a movement being detected.
Example 1:
The light should be on continuously from dusk till 10 p.m. The light should
be on continuously from 5 a.m. till dawn. Between 10 p.m. and 5 p.m.,
ARGUS is to switch the light on if it detects a movement.
1 Turn the rotary switch T1 to "22".
2 Turn the rotary switch T2 to "5".
3 Turn the rotary switch C to the range "mode 1".
How to set the timer function and the twilight threshold
Example 2:
The light is to be on continuously from dusk till 10 p.m.; but after that, and
until dawn, it should be switched on only when a movement is detected
(semi-automatic).
1 Turn the rotary switch T1 to "22".
2 Turn the rotary switch T2 to "H".
3 Turn the rotary switch C to the range "mode 1".
Application example 3: ARGUS should not switch loads at certain
times, even when a movement is detected.
Example 3:
The light should be off continuously from dusk till 10 p.m. The light should
be off continuously from 5 a.m. till dawn. Between 10 p.m. and 5 p.m.,
ARGUS is to switch the light on if it detects a movement.
1 Turn the rotary switch T1 to "22".
2 Turn the rotary switch T2 to "5".
3 Turn the rotary switch C to the range "mode 2".
Example 4:
The light is to be off continuously from dusk till 10 p.m.; but after that, and
until dawn, it should be switched on when a movement is detected
(semi-automatic).
1 Turn the rotary switch T1 to "22".
2 Turn the rotary switch T2 to "H".
3 Turn the rotary switch C to the range "mode 2".

Note: In order to calculate the time of day, ARGUS ignores the
timer function set in the first night and only switches loads when it
detects movements. If the supply voltage has failed for a longer
period of time, it calculates the time of day again, using sunrise and
sunset as guides. The actual time of day may deviate slightly from
the time of day calculated, depending on where it is calculated. In
this case, adjust the rotary switch T1 and T2 by the deviation which
has been determined.
