Putting into Service

Safety information:
Ensure that no objects fall onto the scales; otherwise, the scales
may be damaged.
Use only a damp cloth to clean the scales. Never use solvents or
abrasive cleaning agents. Do not submerge. You must clean all the
plastic parts of the scales immediately after they come into contact
with grease, spices, vinegar or any other strongly spiced or
coloured foods. Avoid any contact with citric acid.

2. Operation

Switching on the scales:
Place the scales on an even and solid surface; light strength at that position must be at
least 100 lux - wait until the solar icon "READY" begins to flash.
Press the ON/TARE/OFF button on the right of the display to switch on the scales. The
display first shows all icons, and once it has stabilised, the display "0 g" or "0: 0.0 lb:
oz.", "0.0 fl.oz" or "0 ml" will be shown depending on setting. The scales are now ready
to use.
Note: If a weight is shown on the display after switching on, simply press the button
ON/TARE/OFF to set the scales to "0".
Switching between units of weight:
Pressing the UNIT button on the left of the display allows you to switch between country-
specific units of weight (g = grammes / fl.oz = fluid ounces / lb oz = pounds ounces / ml
= millilitres). Please ensure that the scales are set to the appropriate units of weight for
you.

scales to "0 g" (the tare icon will appear on the left of the display if the tare weight is above
600 g: "TARE". You can repeat this procedure as often as you like until the total capacity
of the scales (5 kg) has been reached. After you remove the item(s) from the scales, the
total weight is displayed as a minus value (display: Minus icon –).
Automatic/manual switch-off of the scales:
