The Auger Adapter allows auger bits and extension with a 1
in. shaft diameter to be installed on the EA-400 Auger, or EA-
400 with a 7/8 in. diameter auger extension.

NSTALLATION
Tools Required: 5/16 in. hex socket wrench.
Parts Required:
Auger Adapter, Hex Socket Screw
Adapter
1. Carefully place engine on a flat surface with muffler side
down.
2. Remove auger mounting hardware and 7/8 in. shaft auger
bit if installed.
3. Install auger adapter on auger PTO shaft and align
mounting hole in adapter with hole in PTO shaft.
4. Secure adapter to auger PTO with (1) hex socket screw.
5. Install 1in. auger bit on adapter, and secure with hardware
provided with auger bit.
Extension
NOTE:
Adapter may be used with an auger extension to increase
drilling depth. Follow all instructions provided by auger
extension manufacturer.
WARNING
Never operate auger with handles above chest height.
Loss of control and serious injury may result.
The muffler and area around the muffler may be extremely
hot. Avoid contact with this area, otherwise serious
injury may result.

Drill to depth suitable for safe extension installation, and
stop engine.

7/8 IN. DIA. SHAFT EXTENSION :
A. Remove assembly hardware from PTO shaft
and remove engine. Adapter remains on
auger bit.
B. Attach extension to auger bit.
C. Install engine PTO shaft into extension.
2b.
1 IN. DIA. SHAFT EXTENSION :
A. Remove assembly hardware from auger bit
and remove engine with adapter.
B. Attach extension to auger bit.
C. Install engine with adapter into extension.
3.
Check all hardware for secure assembly before
resuming operation. Replace worn or damaged
hardware.
