BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove all packaging materials
and any transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp
cloth, as described in the chapter
"Cleaning and care".
3. Check to make sure that the appli-
ance is stable.
4. Connect the base via the power
cord to the power supply (230 V~,
50 Hz).
5. Remove the kettle from the base.
6. Press the opening key to the back,
the lid is opening.
7. Add clear, cold water to the "Max"
marking.

OPERATION

1. Remove the kettle from the base.
2. Press the opening key to the back,
the lid is opening.
3. Fill the kettle
(minimum 0.5 litres, mark MIN,
maximum 1.8 litres, mark MAX).
4. CAUTION!
If the kettle is overfilled, boiling
water may be ejected!
5. Close the lid until it clicks into
place. The locking prevents acci-
dental opening.
6. Place the kettle level on the base
in order to establish the contact
with the power connection.
7. Switch on the kettle by pressing
the ON/OFF switch downwards
into the „I"-position. The kettle
cannot be switched on if it is not
properly seated on the base.
