NOTE:
General assembly - loosely assemble center section (page 1); loosely install side brackets on vehicle (this page);
install center section assembly (page 2-3); tighten all fasteners to proper specifications (page 1)
1982-2007 CHEVROLET / GMC PICK-UP - LONG BED ONLY (07 CLASSIC ONLY)
1. If present, remove the rear bolt in the frame. Drill out the nut in frame so a 1/2" hex bolt may be inserted
through it. Place the side brackets up to the frame as shown with hole 1 under the rear frame hole. Place
1/2" thick spacers between the frame and holes 1 & 4. Clamp the side brackets in place.
2. Install a 1/2" hex bolt into the rear hole. Install 1/2" flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
3. If there was not a bolt in the rear hole of the frame, install a 1/2" carriage bolt with a 1/4 bolt plate down through the
hole in frame and loosely install a 1/2" flat washer, 1/2" lock washer, and 1/2" nut.
4. Drill a hole into the frame using hole 4 as a guide. Install a 1/2" carriage bolt with 1/4" bolt plate down
through the frame. Repeat for the other side. Install 1/2" flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
5. Install center section per SIDE BRACKET LOCATION 2. (See page 2)
2000-2006 CHEVROLET / GMC PICK-UP / 2007 CLASSIC - LONG BED ONLY
1. Remove the rearmost existing 14mm bolt from the bottom of the frame rail, both sides. Place the side brackets up
to the frame as shown with hole 1 (1500) or hole 2 (2500 & 3500) in bracket under the rear frame hole.
Loosely reinstall existing14mm bolt through in bracket.
2. Install a 1/2" carriage bolt with a 1/4 bolt plate down through the existing forward hole in frame and down through
hole 3 in side bracket. Loosely install a 1/2" flat washer, 1/2" lock washer, and 1/2" nut. (Both sides)
3. Install center section per SIDE BRACKET LOCATION 2. (See page 2)
REFER TO SIDE BRACKET LOCATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER BOLT TIGHTENING SEQUENCE
