The charger in use
The method of operating the charger remains
basically unchanged, although individual
menu points have been expanded. For exam-
ple, Lithium has now been added to the bat-
tery type select (MODE) menu.
Please note the following deviations from
the main battery instructions:
1. Charging a Lithium battery
- Charging is only possible in manual mode.
- There is no discharge process.
- The user enters the nominal voltage of the
cell or battery rather than the cell count.
The following settings must be carried out
before the charge process can be started:
- Select the Lithium battery type
- Select the nominal battery voltage
- Set the charge current
- Start the charge process
Detailed description of procedure:
Selecting the Lithium battery type
When you switch the charger on the initial
screen display appears briefly. Press the
"MODE" button to select the Lithium battery
type.
Selecting the nominal voltage
The nominal voltage of the battery pack is
selected in the same menu by pressing the ->
or <- button.

The following options are available:
Cell count 3.6 Volt type
1 3.6 V
2 7.2 V
3 10.8 V
4 14.4 V
5 18.0 V
Select the nominal voltage of the battery,
and the charger then calculates the correct
charge termination voltage from this infor-
mation.
After a brief period the screen switches
back automatically to Set-up mode.
Setting the charge current
Press the ^ or v button to leaf through the
menu until the screen shows "SET CHAR",
with a flashing +/- display after it.
Set the charge current using the -> and <-
buttons.
Ensure that the set charge current is no
higher than 1C!
(the value 1C = 1 x cell capacity)
Starting the charge process
- Connect the battery to the charger with
correct polarity.
- The Start Screen appears
- Press the START button to initiate the
charge process.
