• The switching device and the door coupling device cannot be separated under normal operating conditions.
• The panel door must be interlocked when the switching device is in the ON position.
• If the door needs to be opened while the breaker is in the ON position, the interlocking mechanism with the door must be defeated for
service and maintenance. The device for defeating the door interlocking mechanism may be a small flat blade screwdriver.

• To switch the handle from the OFF position to the ON position when the door is closed, it is not necessary to use tools and/or to
defeat the interlocking mechanism. However, any padlock must be removed first.
• When the door is open, an interlocking mechanism must prohit the switching device from being switched from the OFF position to the
ON position. This interlocking mechanism must be defeatable without using any tool. This interlocking mechanism must become inef-
fective when the door is closed.
