Off-loading knee brace for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis
Purpose:
The Genu OA is a knee orthosis with pulling system and hinge to achieve an off-
loading effect and guidance of one compartment based on the 3-point leverage
system. The orthosis may only be used for knee treatment
Properties:
• Adjustable 3-point leverage system with inelastic straps to provide alignment
support and off-loading of the affected compartment
• Integrated hinge with flexion and extension stops
• Anatomic knit delivering homogeneous compression
• Fine and support knit at the popliteal fossa
• Silicone threads at the top of the brace, optimising holding of the orthosis on the leg
• Silicon Patella ring
• Latexfree
Indications:
• Mild to moderate uni-compartmental Osteoarthritis (Grade I to III)
• Uni-compartmental knee conditions requiring load reduction
• Postoperative and/or conservative off-loading effect of a single compartment
Contraindication:
• Do not apply the product in direct contact with broken skin or superficial wounds
• For patient with severe arterial insufficiency or severe varicosities that could result
in skin at risk with regular compressive brace wear
• Allergy to component
Side effects:
No side effects are as yet known for correct use.
Directions for putting on the orthosis
Please note that the orthosis can be used as follows:
• Medial arthrosis on the right/lateral arthrosis on the left
• Medial arthrosis on the left/lateral arthrosis on the right
Before you put it on:
• First loosen all the straps
• To avoid damage to the knit fabric, please make sure that the Velcro pads are
always fastened to the designated Velcro surfaces when putting it on and taking
it off.
Fitting, putting on and taking off the orthosis:
For optimum use of the device, we recommend wearing it on the bare skin (except in
the case contraindicated).
