Important:
For an optimum fit of the joint it should be adjusted to the patient.
To avoid that the Velcro pieces come off, please make sure that they are all attached
properly and firmly to the Velcro straps.
When fitting the orthosis, always make sure that the two intersecting Velcro straps
(crossover Velcro straps) (Fig.1) are always positioned centrally during adjustment!
Check the spacing and position of the two crossover Velcro straps. The length of the
two ends of each crossover Velcro strap protruding from the crossover strap cover
must be identical.
• Grasp the orthosis at the top.
• Step into the orthosis with your foot extended and then pull it up over your leg. To
make it easier to put on, turn the orthosis by approx. 90° beforehand.
• Make sure that your knee cap is positioned in the centre of the patella ring.
Start with the two rear straps. First fit the lower leg and then the upper leg
strap.
• To adjust the length of the two rear straps, it is necessary to adjust the length of
the end opposite the Velcro strap intersection which has a straight cut edge (Fig. 2).
• To adapt the strap, open the Velcro pad and shorten the strap to the desired
length (Fig.3). Then close the Velcro pad and fix it on the strap.
• The Velcro pad should be positioned centrally on the length of the strap so that
the tension can be increased if necessary.
• If creases form during strap adjustment, the angle of each strap can be adjusted
and positioned individually by opening the two rear hook and loop openings on
the crossover Velcro strap (Fig. 4) (round end).
Then adjust the two front straps. First fit the lower leg and then the upper leg
strap.
• To adjust the length of the two front straps, it is necessary to adapt the length of
the end of the strap which is directly located on the crossover Velcro strap (Fig.1).
• To adapt the strap, open the Velcro pad (Fig. 5) and shorten the strap to the desired
length.
• The Velcro pad should preferably be positioned centrally on the length or near
the fastening loop with the magnetic fastener so that the tension can be increased
if necessary.
• To close the strap, grasp into the loop on top of the magnetic fastener (Fig. 6) and
pull the end of the strap towards the Velcro pad with the magnetic fastener so
that the magnetic fastener can find itself and close automatically.
• If creases form during strap adjustment, the angle of each strap can be adjusted
and positioned individually by opening the two front hook and loop openings on
the crossover Velcro strap (Fig. 5) (round end).
Extension and flexion adjustment:
• The orthosis comes equipped with a 0° extension stop
• To adjust the desired extension or flexion, it is necessary to take the joint out of
the joint pocket at the upper end on the inside.
• Flexion settings: 20°, 40°
