5. SAFETY DEVICES
As well as the electronically controlled devices, the machine has other electromechanical safety
mechanisms:
5.1.
Safety thermostat.
Manually rest, located on the back of the side of the controls. Cuts the power supply of the heating
resistances when the temperature exceeds 220 ºC. To replace this device you have to unscrew its cap
and tighten the black bolt with a tool until you hear the click. After finishing the operation you have to put
the cap back into place. Check the cause of the excessive temperature.
5.2.
Power switch.
Disconnect the machine from the mains.
5.3.
Emergency stop.
This turns the machine off immediately in any situation. It is activated pressing down the button. To
rearm it you have to turn the button clockwise until it interlocks.
5.4.
Fuses.
Line and auxiliary for a total protection of the electrical installation.
5.5.
Motor hot-wire.
Acts via the GSR electronic programmer.
5.6.
Finger guard bar.
It protects hands against possible burns or trapping, inverting the roller turning direction and lifting the
heating plate.
6. MAINTENANCE
Any maintenance operation must be carried out by the authorised assistance centres, by our
representative or by trained staff.
BEFORE ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATION TURN OF THE MACHINE'S POWER USING THE MAIN
SWITCH.
Be very careful during maintenance. The safety guards must never be overridden. Use original spare
parts. If in doubt, consult our technical office indicating the machine model and serial number on the
name plate, located on the back of the machine.
6.1.
Monthly control.
Control the circumference of the cylinder using a flexible centimetre. The measurement range from 740
mm to 760 mm homogeneously along the entire length. If the circumference is less than 740 mm the
coverage has to be filled adding steel wool adequately and eventually replacing the padding.
6.2.
Annual control.
Lubricate the guides the plate slides on with grease. Check that the safety systems work well: the safety
thermostat, the finger guard bar, connection with the earthing circuit and operation of the safety switch
located before the machine.
Lubricate the two free wheels and chain with grease and, if necessary, tauten the latter using the two
bolts that fasten the gear motor. The gear does not require maintenance, as it has lifetime lubrication.
The two gas springs do not need maintenance either.
Check the tightening of the screws of the power electrical connection in the contactors.
