MOWING PROCEDURE
Read the safety instructions before starting to mow.
SAFETY
HYEA type:
Always release the blade clutch lever and the drive clutch lever
before starting the engine. Starting is more difficult when the
blade is engaged. If the clutch is engaged, the mower will move
when the engine is started.
1. Select the suitable forward
speed thanks to the shift
lever [1].
2. Engage the blade:
- Press the yellow button [2]
located on the top of the blade
clutch lever [3], and at the
same time push it quickly and
hold it against the handle.
3. Engage mower forward drive
when the motor has picked up
speed:
- The drive clutch lever [4] acts
as a variable speed control
according to its squezzed
position. It makes the speed
vary between zero and the
maximal speed preset with the
shift lever. The maximum
speed can be reached when
both levers [3] and [4] are
pushed forward completely.
The greater the height of the
grass to be cut, the more it is
necessary to reduce the drive
speed of the machine. This
will prevent overloading the
engine and improve the
quality of the cut.
4. To stop the mower moving forward:
- Release the drive clutch lever [4].
5. To stop the blade rotating:
- Release the blade clutch lever [3].
NOTE: It is possible to refrain from using the forward drive while
mowing in areas with a narrow surface.
The drive clutch can be used to move the mower without engaging
the blade clutch (lanes, borders, etc.).
CAUTION:
• Move the blade clutch lever quickly from one end of its travel to
the other, so that the blade is always either fully engaged or fully
disengaged. This is to avoid stalling the engine and increases the
service life of the blade control mechanism.
PKEA type:
NOTE: Releasing the blade brake
lever [5] stops the blade rotating and
stops the engine.

VKEA type:
1. Engage mower forward
drive [7] when the motor has
picked up speed.
- Push the Smart Drive [6]
slowly make the mower
move forward.
- The drive speed increases
depending on the pressure exerted on the Smart Drive.
- Apply only the pressure necessary to obtain the required
speed. At a given position, the lawn mower speed varies
according to several factors, such as the terrain, grass height,
slope and weight of the grass bag. The Smart Drive is
designed to allow you to maintain the desired drive speed
under constantly changing grass cutting conditions.
2. To stop the mower moving forward:
- Release the Smart Drive lever [6].
3. To stop the blade rotating:
- Release the blade clutch lever [7].
NOTE: Releasing the blade brake lever stops the blade rotating and
stops the engine.
