2. Place the auxiliary handle (12) on the bracket (15) and
adjust the angle to a comfortable position.
3. Insert bolt through the bracket (15) and auxiliary
handle (12), screw the auxiliary handle locking knob
(4) onto the bolt. Do not overtighten (Fig. F).
OPERATION
Preparing the line trimmer for use
Warning! The line trimmer runs for a few seconds after
it has been switched off. Let the motor come to a complete
standstill before setting the tool down.
Telescopic shaft adjustment (Fig. G)
1. The line trimmer shaft can be adjusted to suit the
height of the operator.
2. Loosen the telescopic shaft collar (5) by rotating in a
clockwise direction.
3. Adjust the telescopic shaft (11) up or down to the
appropriate height. Tighten the telescopic shaft collar
(5) once adjustment is complete.
Manually increasing the cutting line (Fig. H)
1. Before starting ensure the cutting line is the correct
length.
2. Push the tab (16) on the side of the spool housing
and then pull on the end of both pieces of line (17)
protruding from the spool housing until it extends a
few centimetres past the edge of the safety guard (7).
3. Carefully remove the tape (18) over the cutting blade if
you have not already done so.
Semi-Automatic line feed
1. Depress the On/Off switch and allow the line trimmer
to reach full speed.
2. Release the On/Off switch and allow the line trimmer
to come to a stop or until you hear a click. repeat
steps 1 and 2 until required length is achieved.
Adjusting the cutting head (Fig. I)
By adjusting the cutting head angle to any of the 11 preset
angles the line trimmer can be used to trim under low
hanging branches and shrubs or garden furniture.
Depress the head angle lock button (6) and adjust the
cutting head to the desired angle. Release the button (6)
and ensure that the cutting head locks in position.
Extension cord retainer (Fig. J)
To avoid detaching the extension cord always check that it
is attached to the cord retainer (3) before using trimmer.
1. Make a loop with the extension cord and push it
through the square hole under the grip of the On/Off
switch (2).
2. Place the end of the loop round cord retainer (3) and
ensure it is pulled firmly enough to prevent it from
coming loose whilst operating the trimmer.
3. Connect the extension cord socket to the line trimmer
cord plug.
Starting the line trimmer
1. Connect the extension cord to a power supply.
2. To switch ON the line trimmer press the On/Off
switch (2).
3. To switch OFF simply release the On/Off switch (2).
Warning! The line trimmer runs for a few seconds after
it has been switched off. Let the motor come to a complete
standstill before setting the tool down.
Edging mode (Fig. K)
Warning! Before making this change, make sure that
line trimmer is switched off and unplugged.
In order to use the line trimmer as an edger, adjust as
follows:
1. Push the rotating head button (6) on the motor
housing, then rotate the housing to the edging position.
2. Release rotating head button (10), ensure the motor
housing firmly clicks into position and you hear the
"click" sound.
3. The trimmer can now be used for edging.
Trimmer as edge cutter (Fig. L)
In order to use the grass trimmer as an edge cutter, use
the setting as follows:
1. Disconnect mains plug and push the head adjust
lock button on the motor housing, and then rotate the
housing to the edge position (L1).
2. Release cutting height adjust lock button, ensure the
motor housing section firmly clicks to secure in place
as it audibly snaps into position (L2).
3. Now the trimmer can be used as the edge cutter
(L3).
TRIMMING
Warning! Make sure that the work area is free of rocks,
debris, lines and other foreign objects.
Your line trimmer will work at its best if you observe the
following instructions:
f Never use the line trimmer without its safety devices.
f Do not cut grass when it is wet. The best results are
achieved on dry grass.
f To switch ON your line trimmer, press the On/Off
switch (2).
f To switch OFF your line trimmer, let go of the On/Off
switch (2).
f Do not move the line trimmer against the grass until
the switch is pressed, i.e. wait until the line trimmer is
running before placing in grass.
