STEP 2
Loosen V-Band coupling nut
far enough that coupling will
clear flanges and remove
coupling from unit.
STEP 3
Twist and pull down
on housing and remove
assembly.
STEP 4
Remove purge cap nut,
purge plate and spring.
Complete desiccant canister
assembly can now be
removed from housing and
set aside.
STEP 5
Place lower housing in
a vise and turn housing
counterclockwise to remove
housing from purge valve
body. Unit must be
positioned so that vise jaws
engage flats on valve body.
STEP 6
Unscrew threaded shaft
assembly from valve body
STEP 7
Remove purge valve,
springs and U-Cup seal
from valve body and
discard.
STEP 8
The inside of the valve body must be
wiped clean and be free from burrs and
scratches before reassembly. Lubricate
new valve O-Ring and U-Cup. Insert
U-Cup into valve body first. Care must
be taken not to damage the seal lips.
Install O-Ring onto the new valve and
insert into the valve body. Place new
springs on top of valve.
STEP 9
Lubricate and replace O-Ring on center
shaft assembly with new O-Ring provided
in kit. Thread center shaft assembly into
valve body, wrench tight. Do not over-
tighten (Approx. 250 in-lbs). It should be
noted that the valve body is aluminum
and care must be taken not to cross
thread the shaft assembly when starting
threads against the spring pressure.
