5. Tools and accessories
For metal, use only flawless, sharpened drills; for
GB
stone and concrete, only rock drills with hard met-
al inserts.
Sharpening the chisels
Good results are only achieved with sharp chisels,
therefore sharpen the chiselling tools in due time.
This prolongs the service life of the tools and en-
sures good working performance.
Sharpen chiselling tools with grinding wheels (e.g.
ceramic bonded corundum wheel) with a steady
supply of water. Standard values for this are
shown in the illustrated instructions. Take care
that no annealing colouration appears on the cut-
ting edges, otherwise the hardness of the chisel-
ling tools will be impaired.
Use keyless drill chuck
Drill bits with a cylindrical shaft are used for drilling
in metal, wood and plastic. A keyless drill chuck
(max. 13 mm clamping diameter) is available for
this purpose.
-NOTE-
The keyless chuck is not suited for hammer drill-
ing and chiselling.
The drill chuck is mounted onto the carrier spindle
of the screw adapter 6 or of the device.
Changing the tool holder
Before carrying out any work on the
machine, pull the main plug.
All common drill chucks with 1/2" x 20 UNF inter-
nal threads (13 mm max. chuck opening) can be
used. The drill chuck is mounted on the screw
adapter 6 (accessories) for screw-bits.
Fitting the drill chuck (accessory)
Retract the unlocking sleeve I.
Insert the screw adapter 6 into the tool holder 1
while rotating.
Release the unlocking sleeve.
Check the interlock by pulling the screw adapter.

-NOTE-
In devices with SDS-plus automatic interlocking,
the unlocking sleeve must not be retracted when
inserting the tool.
Manual SDS-plus interlock
SDS-plus automatic interlock
Inserting the drill chuck (accessory)
Clean the thread on the drill chuck (accessory)
and on the screw adapter 6 (accessory).
Screw the drill chuck 7 onto the adapter 6.
Set the rotation stop switch III or operation mode
switch II temporarily to the chiselling function to al-
low you to tighten the drill chuck to a torque of 40
Nm.
Removing the drill chuck
Pull the unlocking sleeve I backwards and remove
the drill chuck III with the screw adapter 6.
If required, first screw the drill chuck 7 from the
screw adapter 6.
Changing quick-fit drill chuck system
Before carrying out any work on the
machine, pull the main plug.
Removing the tool holder
Slide the drill chuck unlocking sleeve IX back-
wards and remove the tool holder 1 from the car-
rier spindle.
Fitting the drill chuck
Clean the carrier spindle 8.
Pull the drill chuck unlocking sleeve IX backwards
and guide the required drill chuck 7 onto the carri-
er spindle 8 while rotating.
Release the unlocking sleeve I. Check that the drill
chuck 7 is secure.
