ASSEMBLY
1. ASSEMBLY OF LAWN TRIMMER (See Fig.
A, B,C1, C2)
NOTE: This may be fully assembled when you
get the machine, however this instruction gives
you full assembly details.
Insert the upper parts into lower part firmly until a
"click" is heard.
NOTE: the screw holes should be on the same
side.
Make sure the locking knob(a) is tightened to fix
the machine.
2. ASSEMBLY OF THE SAFETY GUARD (SSee
Fig. D-Fig. F)
1) Position motor head/axle as shown in Fig. D,
with screw fixing hole at the top centre, remove
pre-fitted screw(b).
2) Position guard with inner side, ie. moulding
facing you as shown in Fig. E.
3) Lower the guard over the motor head/axle and
align slots as shown in Fig. F (note position of the
tab) and then use the screw(b) to fix the guard.
WARNING! Take great care when doing
this as the guard has a very sharp cutting
edge(c).
5) Keep turning the guard until it locks into
position (it will lock into place), insert screw into
screw hole at top centre and tighten. The guard
is now installed.(see Fig. F)
WARNING! Never operate the tool without
the guard properly in place. Use of the
unit without having installed the guard will cause
the motor to overheat, and void the warranty.
3. MAINS SUPPLY CABLE STRAIN RELIEF
(See Fig. G)
In order to reduce strain on the cable inlet, form a
loop and locate the cable around the strain relief
arm.
4. ADJUSTING THE CUTTING LINE
Check the length of the nylon cutting line, pull
line to inner edge of the guard; if the line is
very short, i.e. more than 50mm away from
edge of the guard. Push down on the centre of
the cutting head and at the same time pull the
line a few centimeters beyond the guard (See
Fig. H). When the trimmer starts, the line will
automatically be cut to the correct length.
5. ADJUSTING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE
1). Depress the auxiliary handle button (d),
the auxiliary handle can be moved forward or
backward into different locked positions (See
Fig. I).
26
2). When the handle is in desired position, loosen
the button.
OPERATION
Intended Use
The machine is intended for the cutting of grass
and weeds under bushes, as well as on slopes
and edges that can not be reached with the lawn
mower.
1. OPERATING THE TRIMMER
CAUTION: Always wear eye protection
and heavy clothing to prevent rocks and
debris from hitting you and causing an eye injury
or other serious injuries.
CAUTION: Inspect area to be trimmed
and remove any wire, cord, or string-like
objects which could become entangled in the
rotating line or spool. Be particularly careful to
avoid any wire, which might be bent outwardly
into the path of the tool, such as barbs at the
base of a chain link fence.
1) Your switch is locked off to prevent accidental
starting. Depress the lock off button then the on/
off switch and release the lock off button. Your
switch is now on. To switch off, just release the
on/off switch. (See Fig. J)
WARNING: Allow 5 seconds or more for
the lawn trimmer to stop rotating after
releasing the ON/OFF switch. DO NOT invert
the lawn trimmer or place hands under the guard
until the lawn trimmer has come to a complete
stop.
2) Let the trimmer run for a few seconds without
touching the working area, and allow the trimmer
to cut the line after lengthening.
3) Use the trimmer at an angle of approximately
20-degree to the working area (see Fig. K1).
4) Slowly swing the trimmer from side to side
(see Fig. K2).
5) Do not overload your trimmer, take small
"bites". This will keep the machine operating
at high speed and will greatly improve cutting
efficiency (see Fig. L and Fig. M).
6) While edging allow the tip of the line to make
contact. Do not force the line. The edge guard
helps protect the unit and keeps the unit from
contacting the ground. Take extra caution while
edging as objects can be thrown from the trimmer
