Maintenance
Examine the muffler*
Examine the spark plug
Examine the drive belt for damages
Clean the gear housing
Replace the oil (the first time after 5 h use, then after each 25 h use and
yearly)
Replace the air filter
Examine the fuel system
Examine and adjust the drive (clutch wire)
To do a general inspection
Make sure that all nuts and screws on the product
are tightened correctly.
To clean the product externally
Use a brush to remove leaves, grass and dirt.
Make sure that the air intake on the top of the engine
is not blocked.
Do not use a high pressure washer to clean the
product.
If you use water to clean the product, do not flush
water directly on the engine.
To clean the inner surface of the cutting
cover
1. Put the product on its side with the muffler down.
CAUTION: If the product is put with the
air filter down, the engine can become
damaged.
2. Hose down the inner surface of the cutting cover
with water.
To examine the drive belt and clean the
gear housing
1. Remove the 4 screws on the belt guard and remove
the belt guard. (Fig. 25)
2. Examine the drive belt and belt pulley for damages.
3. Use a brush to remove leaves, grass and dirt from
the gear housing. (Fig. 26)
To replace and adjust the drive belt
1. Remove the 4 screws on the belt guard and remove
the belt guard. (Fig. 25)
2. Put a flat screwdriver between the hubcap and the
wheel on the right front wheel of the product.
3. Twist the screwdriver carefully to remove the
hubcap.

4. Remove the wheel bolt and remove the wheel. (Fig.
27)
5. Remove the drive belt from the belt pulleys.
6. Make sure that the belt pulleys move easily on the
axle.
7. If it is necessary, spray penetrating oil between and
behind the belt pulleys and lubricate the axle.
8. Install a new drive belt and attach it correctly at the
ball bearing before you adjust the drive belt. (Fig. 28)
9. Move the ball bearing up or down to adjust the drive
belt. (Fig. 29)
Note: A new drive belt becomes longer after use.
Adjust the drive belt again after some hours of
operation.
10. Attach the belt guard.
11. Operate the product to make sure that the drive belt
is correctly installed and adjusted.
To replace and adjust the center belt
1. Remove the blade.
Note: This step is not necessary when you only
adjust the center belt.
2. Loosen the adjustment screws some turns, but do
not remove them. (Fig. 30)
3. Replace the center belt and moderately tighten the
adjustment screws.
Note: This step is not necessary when you only
adjust the center belt.
4. Move the gear forward or rearward to adjust the
center belt. (Fig. 31)
5. Use a hook scale to examine the tension of the
center belt. The belt has the correct tension when it
can move 6–10 mm in the center. That is equal to a
pull of 3 kg. (Fig. 32)
