Safety instructions for wet and dry vacuum cleaners
Before start-up please read these instructions!
If, on unpacking the unit, you discover dam-
age has been caused in transit please con-
tact your sales office.
Before start-up please read the operating
instructions for your unit and comply in par-
ticular with these safety instructions.
The warning and information signs attached
to the unit provide important information for
safe operation.
Apart from the information in the operating
instructions, comply with the general safety
regulations and regulations for the preven-
tion of accidents.
Power supply
The voltage indicated on the rating plate
must correspond to the voltage of the power
source.
Class I units may only be connected to
properly earthed power sources.
Only use or replace power supply cables for
this unit which correspond to the types indi-
cated by the manufacturer. Comply with the
maintenance instructions. See the operating
instructions for the order no. and types.
Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Do not run over, crush or pull the power
supply cable or extension lead, otherwise it
may be damaged. Protect the cable from
heat, oil and sharp edges.
When replacing couplings on the power
supply cable or extension lead the spray
water guard and mechanical stability must
remain intact. Comply with the maintenance
instructions.
Do not use a hose or high pressure water
spray to clean the unit (danger of short-cir-
cuits or other damage).

Application
Before use, check that the unit and operat-
ing equipment, in particular the power sup-
ply cable and the extension lead, are in per-
fect condition and are safe to operate.
Never suck up explosive liquids, combustible
gases, explosive dusts or undiluted acids
and solvents! Substances to avoid also
include petrol, paint thinner and fuel oil
which could form explosive fumes or mix-
tures by being in turbulence with the air
under suction. In addition, the list includes
acetone, undiluted acids and solvents as
well as aluminum and magnesium dusts.
These substances can also attack the mate-
rials used in the unit.
Do not draw in burning or glowing objects.
Do not direct the unit at people or animals.
The appropriate safety regulations must be
observed when using the unit in dangerous
areas (e.g. petrol stations). It is forbidden to
operate the unit in potentially explosive loca-
tions.
Operation
The operator must use the unit in accor-
dance with the regulations. He/she must
take local conditions into account and be
aware of other people, especially children,
when operating the unit.
The unit may only be used by persons who
have been instructed in how to use it or who
have proved their ability to operate it and
who have been expressly commissioned to
use it.
The unit may not be operated by children or
by the frail and infirm without supervision.
Never leave the unit unattended unless you
have switched it off and pulled out the main
power plug.
Transport
Switch off the motor and secure the unit
before transporting.
Maintenance
Switch off the unit prior to cleaning and
maintenance work and before replacing
components. Pull out the mains plug if the
unit is mains-operated. Switch off the unit
when changing over to another function.
Repairs may only be carried out by author-
ized customer service centres or by special-
ists in the field who are familiar with all the
relevant safety regulations.
Commercial units which may be used in dif-
ferent locations are subject to a safety check
according to VDE 0701.
Accessories
Only use accessories and spare parts which
have been approved by the manufacturer.
Original accessories and spare parts guar-
antee that the unit can be operated safely
and without any breakdowns.
This unit in not suitable for removing dust
which is hazardous to your health.
Units with electrical connections in the
suction hose
When cleaning the hose, do not immerse in
water.
Wet vacuum cleaner
This unit must not be used for removing dust
which is hazardous to you health unless
specifically indicated on the unit. Comply
with the safety information in the operating
instructions.
Clean the water level limiting device regular-
ly and check for signs of damage.
Warning! Switch off the unit immediately if
foam or liquid flows out!
Do not keep the unit in sub-zero tempera-
tures.
Electrical Connection and Supply
Warning: This appliance must be earthed.
When using this appliance outdoors it
should be additionally protected by a RCCB
(Residual Current Circuit Breaker).
Please check that the supply voltage details
given on the rating plate (located on the side
of the motor housing) are in accordance with
your electricity supply.
Before cleaning and maintenance, discon-
nect from mains supply.
This appliance may be fitted with a plug, if
not follow instructions below.
Fitted Plug
If the appliance is fitted with a molded-on
plug and the socket outlets in the home are
not suitable for a plug supplied with this
appliance, it should be cut off and an appro-
priate three pin plug fitted as detailed later in
this section.
