Slipping phenomenon
When the straps slip on the pulleys or on the load, verify there is no greasy and/or wet substance or
dust. Verify also the surface condition of the pulley. It might be necessary to sand blast it again in
order to get good adherence.
To do so:
§
Remove grease with a cloth/clean the pulley sheave and the straps.
§
Let the surfaces dry before putting back the straps and closing down the pulley casings.
§
Sand blast the pulley surface if necessary
Load length/distance between straps
In order to be more stable during the turnover, we advise, if possible, to make the distance between
the 2 belts at least 1/3 of the length of the load.
The straps of the load turner must be uniformly distributed over the length of the load and according
to the load geometry
Adjusting the strap distance (on the adjustable pal-turn™ only)
This operation must be done without load and with the Pal-turn
ground.
To adjust the position of a strap, using the pulleys of the pal-turn™:
§
Go to the end of the pal-turn™ bar and hold the handle of the pulley
with one hand.
§
With the other hand, lift up the indexing lever.
§
Whilst holding the latter, push or pull the whole pulley towards you
until the indexing lever is in an indexing position on the key of the
main bar.
Then release the handle of the indexing lever.
§
§
Check that the pulley is properly indexed on the key of the main bar by
pulling or pushing the pulley assembly again (this time, without locking
the handle of the indexing lever).
From 10 t models, the handles must be situated on the top of the tube
§
(shear connector on the side) to move the pulleys easily.
Imbalance sensor (Option)
An imbalance system can be fitted to your pal-turn™. It
is designed to show the imbalanced position of the
pal-turn™ by a sound and/or light signal, i.e. to show
that the pal-turn™ has reached an inclination angle
greater than 6° with respect to the horizontal plane.
This system is only a means of information to the user
with regard to the angular position of the pal-turn™,
and it does not stop the rotation.
As soon as the signal is noticed by the operator, the
load should be quickly lowered and held in a safe
manner. The equilibrium of the load can be re-
established (perfect horizontal position during the
lifting), before lifting again and turning of the charge.
