Set the handle and magazine assembly
aside.

1. Without putting any pressure on the fan
blade, hold the cylinder head o-ring with
your thumb and index finger of one hand,
and pull the o-ring out of the groove by
applying light pressure while pulling (see
Figure 5).
2. Gently pull the o-ring out of the groove
and over the fan (see Figure 6). Wipe the
o-ring clean with a soft cloth. Spray a
light amount of degreaser cleaner on the
cloth to help remove any residue. Repeat
as necessary to remove any build-up that
remains on the o-ring.
3. In a well-ventilated area,
spray the cylinder head with
degreaser cleaner. Allow the
dirt and debris to drip off onto
a rag or cloth (see Figure 7).
Do NOT let excessive
spray or dirty cleaning
solution run into the handle. It is
recommended to drape a cloth over
the open section of the tool to prevent
excessive spray or dirty cleaning solution
from entering the handle.
Fully clear off
remaining residues
from the spark plug gap area as an
excess of deposits or fluids left there may
inhibit proper sparking.
4. Using a clean cloth, wipe off all remaining
cleaner and/or dirt. Make sure the o-ring
groove and spark plug are completely
clean and clear of debris (see Figure 8).
Repeat step 3 and 4 to remove any
remaining dirt or residue.
5. Reinstall the o-ring, and thoroughly
lubricate with the provided oil from the
case. Make sure oil is applied evenly
around entire o-ring (see Figure 9). Use a
clean cloth to wipe up any excessive oil.
NOTE: The lubricating oil provided is
formulated for use in this tool. The use of
other types of lubricants may cause build-
up of combustible residue or result in part
failure. If additional oil is needed, use a
SAE 20 or sewing machine oil.
