Cleaning Instructions
Regular Use Cleaning (Continued)

MoTor aSSeMbly

1. Push the piston assembly to the "down"
position using the handle of a screwdriver,
hammer, or other non-metallic handle with
no sharp edges. (see Figure 10).
2. With the motor assembly turned upwards,
spray a liberal amount of the degreaser
cleaner inside the sleeve and combustion
chamber (see Figure 11). Let the excess
degreaser cleaner, dirt, and debris drain
out onto a rag.
3. Use a clean cloth to wipe off remaining
degreaser cleaner and dirt (see Figure 12).
Repeat step 2 to remove heavy deposits
or remaining residue.
4. With motor assembly tilted up, squeeze 4
or 5 drops of oil into drive cylinder. Rotate
the motor assembly while adding 5 or 6
drops of oil onto lower lip of combustion
chamber (see Figure 13). Ensure that the
oil is evenly distributed around the drive
cylinder and lip.
5. Hold the motor assembly upright. Push
the motor assembly down against a solid
surface and release several times to allow
oil in combustion chamber to be evenly
distributed (see Figure 14).
6. Manually push the work contact element
up and down several times to distribute
the oil in the drive cylinder evenly (see
Figure 15).
7. Tilt the motor assembly upwards and
apply 3 or 4 drops of oil evenly spaced
around the top of the combustion
chamber. Spread the oil evenly using your
fingertip (see Figure 16).
8. Reassemble the tool. Reverse the order
of separation instructions given in the
MoTor, hanDle, anD MagazIne
SeparaTIon section.
Do not operate the tool
unless the head screws,
filter, and cap are securely attached to
the housing. Operating the tool with loose
or missing head screws can result in the
escape of burning gases, tool damage, and
injury to tool user and property.
NOTE: After the tool is completely
assembled and all screws are tightened,
test the tool for proper operation. Some
smoke may be noticeable from the exhaust
ports on the first few cycles as excess oil is
burned off. Consult the operating manual for
instructions if the tool malfunctions.
