13.1 CLEANING
After each daily work session or before long periods of inactivity,
the mixing drum must be cleaned thoroughly both inside and
outside.
- Do not start the mixer while carrying out cleaning
operations.
- If the protection guards are removed for cleaning,
always replace them correctly at the end of the cleaning
operation.
When using a hose for cleaning, do not direct the spray into the
plug-switch unit.

13.2 CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Clean the outside of the mixer with a brush and water. Scrape
off any cement or concrete deposits.
There should not be any deposits of cement or concrete inside
the drum. The inside of the drum can be cleaned better if, at the
end of the work session or before a prolonged period of inactivity,
the drum is rotated with a few shovel-fulls of gravel and water.
This will prevent any residue of cement or concrete from
hardening.
The mixing drum must not be struck with hard objects such as
hammers or shovels, etc. A dented drum will reduce the mixing
effects and make cleaning more difficult.
13.3 REPAIRS
Do not start up the mixer while repairs are being
c ar ri ed o ut .
Repairs to electrical systems must be carried out exclusively by
specialist staff.
Original IMER spare parts only must be used and must not be
modified in any way.
- If the protection guards are removed during repair
operations, they must be correctly replaced when repairs
are completed.
14. TENSIONING OF THE TRANSMISSION BELT (FIG. 6)
Power is transmitted by the electric motor (ref . 1) to the
mixing drum gearbox (ref. 2) by means of a poly-V belt with
six triangular teeth (ref. 3). To correctly tension the belt, first
disc onnect the power supply cable, and then remove the
belt guard (ref. 4) by loosening the screws which secure it
in place.
Loosen the 4 screws (ref. 5) that secure the electric motor
mounting to the arm. Stretch the belt using the screw (ref.
6): apply a force of F=1,5 Kg at the centre of the free section
of the belt; the deflection should be about f=5 mm (fig. 7).
- Do not stretch the belt excessively; this will
reduce belt life, as w ell as the life of the gearbox
and ele ctric motor be arings.
After tensioning the belt, tighten the four screws (ref. 5) and
replace the belt guard (ref. 4).
15. REPLACING THE BELT (FIG. 6)
Proceed as in paragraph 15.1, loosening screw ref. 6, until
the belt c omes of f the pulleys of the electric motor and
gearbox. Insert the new belt, first on the gearbox pulley and
then on the electric motor pulley: take care that the six teeth
of the belt are correctly inserted in the pulley races. Proceed
with tensioning the belt as described in paragraph 14.
16. DRUM TILTING BRAKE (FIG.8)
Two brakes (ref. 2) are mounted on the worm screw on the
tilting gearbox (ref. 1), to prevent the handwheel from turning
freely as the mixing drum is turning.
If this should happen, these two brakes should be replaced, by
removing the relative cover (ref. 3).

17. MIXER'S DRUM DISASSEMBLY AND RE-ASSEMBLY
- In case it's necessary to remove the drum, to reset it it's
necessary.
- to clean carefully the gear shaft cone and the drum cone.
- to place the drum on the shaft cone, making sure that shaft
shear pin is inside its seat in the drum cone.
- to block drum tighting screw with washer by following tighting
torques:
SYNTESI 190-250: 22 ± 2 Kgm.
SYNTESI 300-350: 30 ± 2 Kgm.

18. TROUBLESHOOTING

The motor
does not run
when the
switch is
pressed.
During mixing
the mixer drum
rpm decreases.
