Operating the product
Dangerous electrical voltage
Possibility of cardiac arrhythmia, burns, shock!
Make sure that unauthorized persons do not work on/in the
switch cabinet or on the gun.
During commissioning, live plant components are accessible. This
reduces the safety of persons and the plant.
Dangerous electrical voltage
Possibility of cardiac arrhythmia, burns, shock!
Never interpret the extinguishing of all LEDs on the weld timer
as zero voltage!
Please note that the voltage inside the unit directly after
switching off the mains supply of the weld timer has not been
reduced to a harmless level yet.
Do not touch either mains or transformer connections for at
least 5 minutes after switching the weld timer's mains supply
off.
Use suitable measuring equipment and an appropriate
measuring method to ensure that the respective unit is de-
energized before carrying out any work on the unit.
Strong electromagnetic fields during the welding sequence
Possibility of function disturbances of cardiac pacemakers, other
implants or also hearing aids!
Make sure that persons dependent on or using devices of this
kind generally avoid resistance welding equipment.
Make sure that corresponding warning signs are posted at a
proper distance from resistance welding equipment.
Please observe EC directive "Electromagnetic fields
(2013/35/EU)". It defines the limit values for extremities which
may be exceeded especially in manual welding gun
applications.
In cases of doubt, please measure the field strength and
provide additional measures to ensure health and safety at
work.
Please note the Instructions DGUV 15, "Accident prevention
regulation relating to electromagnetic fields" issued by the
Berufsgenossenschaft (employers' third party liability insurance
association).
Damaged system parts
Possibility of reduction of safety of persons/systems, function
disturbances/restrictions!
Before starting to work, subject the plant to a reasonable,
practical check for possible damages (e.g. visual inspection).
Report any damages and malfunctions of the unit to your
supervisor and servicing or repair department immediately.
CAUTION
Expulsions, hot surfaces, sharp metal edges
Possibility of burns, eye injuries!
Wear protective gloves in order to protect yourself against
injuries on sharp metal edges and burns on the parts to be
welded!
Wear protective goggles in order to protect your eyes against
expulsion or hot metal burr.
Only wear flame-retardant working clothes.

NOTICE
Incorrect parameter settings
Possibility of overloading the welding transformer by incorrect
parameter settings!
Make sure that the corresponding parameters have been
properly set in the weld timer and the power unit.
The maximum permitted welding current depends e.g. on the
inverter and the welding transformer used. For this reason, our weld
timers offer special parameters for adjustment to the welding
transformer used.
Plugging or unplugging modules or connectors/terminals into/from
live systems
Possibility of damage to the electrical equipment, unexpected plant
reactions!
Unless described otherwise, never unplug or plug any
connectors/terminals on live systems.
Overheating due to insufficient cooling
Possibility of temporary interruption of the welding process, a
reduced useful life of the product!
Make sure that water-cooled devices are only operated with
sufficient cooling water flow, matching supply temperature and
suitable cooling fluid quality. For further information, refer to the
technical data in the Operating Instructions for the product.
Strong electromagnetic fields during the welding sequence
Possibility of damage to wrist watches/pocket watches, floppy disks
or even cards with magnetic strips (e.g. EC cards)!
Therefore, you should not carry any such items on you when
working in the direct vicinity of the welding equipment.
Retrofits and modifications by the operator
Modification of the product
Possibility of reduction of safety of persons/systems, function
disturbances/restrictions!
Modifications of the product are normally not permitted. If you
think that you can only use the product after a change, you
have to contact us before performing the change. This is the
only way to find out whether or not changes can be made
safely.
You may, in any case, only perform changes on the product
with our written consent!
Arbitrary use of the ground fault protection resistor
The protective measure "g.f.c.i. protection circuit" may become
ineffective by the use of an inappropriate ground fault protection
resistor! That means that human lives may be in danger in the
event of an insulation failure (between primary and secondary
circuit)!
Only use this ground fault protection resistor in connection with
a ground fault protection device with a nominal ground fault
current of less than or equal to 30 mA (in accordance with EN
60947-2) in TN or TT systems up to 690 V max. that are
specifically designed for welding transformers (refer to EN
62135-1).
