1.
Remove trunk panel to gain access to end panel. Remove spare tire cover.
2.
Remove (2) trunk rubber plugs located in the end panel. Return to owner.
3.
Place carriage bolt and spacers (2) onto tow hook. As shown Figure 1.
4.
Raise hitch into position behind end panel and fasten to tow hook with conical washer and hex nut. Hand tighten.
5.
Install fasteners on drivers side. Place spacer (Item 2) inside trunk add sealant around hole. Install fastener as
shown in Figure 1 or optional Figure 2. Hand tighten to prevent hitch from moving while installing passenger side.
6.
Install fastener on passenger side. Once again adding sealant around hole. Install fasteners as shown in Figure 1
or optional Figure 2 .
7.
Tighten all fasteners to specification listed below.
8.
Apply sealant at bolt attachments inside spare tire well to prevent the intrusion of water and exhaust fumes to
vehicle interior.
9.
Reinstall trunk panel. Reinstall spare tire cover
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
and SAE J684.
