1. Remove existing M12 bolt from driver and passenger side frame rails. Retain for use in step 4.
2. Install 7/16 carriage bolt and spacer as shown using the reverse pullwire method as shown in Fig. 2. Leave
pullwires attached.
3. Raise hitch into position as shown, during this process, feed pullwires through the rearward holes on the hitch.
4. Re-install the bolts removed in step 1 through the forward holes in the hitch.
5. Using forward bolts to hold the hitch in place remove pullwires and attach conical washers and hex nut.
6. Tighten all fasteners to the required torque specification.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
