5 Functional description

The xFUME VAC FLEX extraction system forms part of a welding, cutting and grinding system. The extraction system can
operate a fixed or flexible extraction arm with a length of 2, 3 or 4 metres.
The device corresponds to the welding fume separation class H13.

In the standard configuration, the extraction system is equipped with a pre-filter and a main filter.
Harmful fumes and gases are produced during the welding process. This device is used to clean and filter dust that is
generated during welding, laser and plasma cutting and grinding processes. These processes produce hazardous dusts and
fumes that are removed by the machine's internal filter. The polluted air is drawn in via a duct system and directed through
a filter. Dust and impurities settle on the filter, while the clean air passes through the filter and out of the machine. Firstly, large
particles are removed by a pre-filter. Fine particles are then removed by the main filter.
The particles and dust adhere to the surface of the filter material, which causes the intake pressure on the fan to increase.
