Lower exhaust system at the rubber isolator. Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator
helps removal.

Remove the (2) bolts on the tie down on driver's side frame rail. Return fasteners to owner.

Tape (3) spacers (item 2), and (5) flat washers (item 6) together for ease of installation.

Clean threads to assure bolts start. Spray some lubricant into each weldnut. Work bolt in and out until cleaned out. Next get rid of

the lubricant. Use any good household detergent, and flush clean.
5.
Raise hitch over exhaust, and install bolt (item 7) and conical washer (item 8) to hold hitch in position.
6.
Raise hitch in position on driver's side install the forward bolt, lock washer, flat washer, and spacer, to hold hitch in position.

Slide taped spacers (item 2) into position, between tie down and hitch bracket. Install spacer, flat washer, lock washer and hex
bolt (item 1). Do not tighten.
8.
Slide taped washers (item 6) into position, between tie down and hitch bracket. Install spacer, flat washer, lock washer and hex
bolt (item 1). Hand tighten fastener and orient spacers as shown Figure 2.
9.
Install remaining fasteners to passenger's side frame rail.
10 Tighten all fasteners to called out torque specification
10. Tighten all fasteners to called-out torque specification.
11. Reattach exhaust.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
and SAE J684.
