WARNING : Protective goggles should be worn at all times when
using pullers.
This standard industrial kit offers versatility with exceptional force
capabilities and ease of operation. Three basic components-the Ram,
(D) a twin head (E) and a triple head (E)- provide the basis for a highly
versatile pulling system. Capacity can be varied by simply changing the
legs.
The interchangeable parts supplied in this kit can be assembled to
create the following tools.
Operating Instructions
Withdraw pressure screw (B) and offer body of ram (D) to object being
removed, use hand pressure only. Insert pressure screw (B) and turn
T-bar (A) to obtain hydraulic pressure.
Use hand pressure only
Should hydraulic pressure fail to obtain results, tap the object being
withdrawn with a medium hammer ( using minimal force ) whilst still
under hydraulic pressure. Never strike any part of the ram (D). The
body of the ram (D) is threaded only to allow it to be offered to the
object to be removed and in no circumstances should it be used as an
extracting screw. Pressure screw (B) should be kept clean and well
lubricated.
A Maximum power output created by turning T-bar.
B Pressure screw with fine pitched thread reduces effort.
C Knurled collar provides hand grip when positioning on workpiece
and applying initial load.
D Hydraulic ram exerts exceptional force with ease.
E Puller head designed for quick fitting of legs. Formed from a deep,
cold drawn pressing to maximise strength and minimise weight.
F Grooved centre nut. As pressure is applied, the centre nut moves
back into the puller head forcing the legs to grip inwards.
G Forged, alloy steel legs for strength and durability.
H Broad, relieved feet for improved access and grip.
I Fine pitched thread for easy adjustment.
J Spring loaded plunger provides a direct, non-twisting application of
thrust, ensuring improved stability on the workpiece. Nose piece
supplied for use on centred shafts.
It is also recommended that:
1) The tool and workpiece are covered during the operation.
2) The tool is fitted squarely onto the workpiece.
3) Excessive pressure must not be used.
4) Care should be taken to prevent damage or injury due to the sudden
release of the pressure generated by the tool.
5) Where possible, a retaining nut be left on the end of the workpiece
to prevent the tool being projected upon sudden release of pressure.
