OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY

The owner and/or operator must have an understanding of these operating instructions and the following warnings before
operating the jack. It is necessary that the operator can watch the lifting device and the load during all movements. It is not
allowed to work under the raised load until it is secured by suitable means.
WARNING
1.
Do not overload. This engine crane is designed for engine lifting and transporting purposes only. When removing an engine from a vehicle,
be sure that the front of a vehicle is not jammed against the hydraulic unit. Failure to observe this warning may result in a broken hydraulic
unit and a dropped engine.
Be sure to transfer an engine to a suitable engine stand after an engine is lifted.
2.
3.
Use on hard level surface capable of sustaining the load.
4.
Chains or slings used shall always have equal or greater capacity than that of the engine crane.
5.
Never stand over a boom or in its path of travel. Loss of load may cause the boom to rise suddenly.
Make sure that a boom is completely lowered before filling hydraulic jack oil to the hydraulic unit.
6.
7.
Do not use the engine crane other than that for which it is designed.
8.
Never try to change the boom position while under load.
9.
Do not open the filler plug for any reason unless the ram piston is fully retracted.
10.
Never modify the engine crane without prior written approval from the factory.
The crane is filled with ProLift hydraulic jack oil. When use in extreme low temperature, please replace with ProLift hydrualic jack oil. Never
11.
use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerin, detergent, motor oil or dirty oil. Improper oil can cause serious internal damage to the engine crane render-
ing it inoperative. For more information on jack oil, please contact local service centers.
12.
It is your responsibility to keep warning decals legible and intact. Replacement decals may be obtained from the factory.
13.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in loss of load, damage to jack, or failure resulting in property damage, personal, or fatal injury.
The owner shall retain this manual for future reference to important warnings, operating and maintenance instructions.
14.
INSPECTION
1.
Visual inspection shall be made before each use of the jack, checking for leaking hydraulic fluid, and damaged, loose or missing parts.
The owner and/or the user shall be aware that repair of this equipment may require specialised knowledge and facilities. It is recommended
2.
to have an annual inspection of the jack done by an authorised service center and that any defect parts be replaced with genuine OMEGA
parts.

INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

CHECK OIL LEVEL
1.
With the jack in an upright position and the ram completely retracted, open the release valve by turning release assembly counterclockwise.
Remove the filler plug, oil should be just up to the hole(see figure 5). Fill if necessary with good grade hydraulic jack oil.
Do not use brake fluid or motor oil!
2.
LUBRICATE INTERNAL COMPONENT
With the release valve open, pump the handle several strokes to assure proper internal lubrication.
3.
BLEED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Close valve by turning clockwise and remove the filler plug. Insert the handle into the socket and pump the jack up to full height, then reinstall
the filler plug.
4.
NOISE LEVEL
Always wear earplugs when operating the jack.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
The capacity of the engine crane varies with the boom position (see CRANE SPECIFICATIONS).
If the load is to be moved to another location, be sure to raise high enough to clear floor. Move the engine crane slowly to avoid
sudden stops that may cause the load to swing violently.
1.
Always use the boom in its retracted position where the capacity is the greatest, whenever possible. Extend the boom only when necessary
to reach the load. Be sure that the load is within the rated capacity for the particular boom position selected, and that the hook is firmly
connected with the boom by a pin.
Close the release valve (do not over tighten) and pump to raise the load to the desired height.
2.
3.
When changing the location of the boom extension, place the boom in the horizontal position. Move the boom and secure with a pin and a
clip. Note the load rating marked on the boom.
MAINTENANCE
Adding Oil:
With the ram piston of the hydraulic unit fully lowered, and remove the filler plug. Fill until oil is level with the oil filling hole, then reinstall the
filler plug.
Changing Oil
For best performance and long product life time, replace the complete oil supply at least once a year.
To drain the oil, unscrew the hydraulic unit to take it down. With the ram piston of the hydraulic unit fully lowered, remove the filler plug. Lay
1.
the hydraulic unit on its side and allow oil to run out into a suitable drain pan.
Replace with proper oil as described in "WARNING". Then, screw the hydraulic unit to the crane and reinstall the filler plug. Be careful to
2.
prevent dirt or foreign matters getting intohe hydraulic unit.
Lubrication
Add proper lubrication oil to all pivoting sections every 3 months, or more often when used in a dusty work environment.
Rust Prevention
Check the ram piston every 3 months for any sign of rust or corrosion. Clean exposed area as needed and wipe with a clean oil cloth.
When not in use, always leave the boom and the ram piston in the lowest position.
