Operating with different
head units
Connecting to a registered
phone automatically
When Automatic Connection is active the unit
will automatically establish a connection with
a registered phone when it comes into range.
! This feature may not work with all phones.
! With some cellular phones, you may be re-
quired to make a confirmation on the cellu-
lar phone in connecting to this unit. In
such case, the connection may not be
made until you confirm it on the phone
even if the Automatic Connection of this
unit is set to on. If possible, set your cellu-
lar phone to not seeking a confirmation for
the Bluetooth connection. For details,
please refer to the operation manual that
came with your cellular phone.
! This feature is not possible if you are play-
ing back songs on your Bluetooth audio
player via Bluetooth wireless technology. In
such case, stop the playback and switch to
another source for your cellular phone to
connect to this unit through this function.

The status will be displayed (e.g., AUTO ON).
# When you turn the automatic connection on
and this unit is searching for the registered cellu-
lar phone, SEARCH is displayed.
# When you turn the automatic connection on
and this unit is establishing a connection with
the registered cellular phone, WAIT is dis-
played.
Setting the ring tone
The unit offers you to turn the ring tone for in-
coming calls on or off.

The ring tone you select for this unit has no ef-
fect on the ring tone used by your phone. If
you do not want your phone and this unit to
ring at the same time, we recommend you
turn the ring tone of one or the other off.

Displaying the device
information of this unit
You can display the device information of this
unit such as the BD address and the device
name.
Should this unit fails to operate properly and
you consult with dealer for repair, you may be
asked to indicate the system versions of this
unit and of Bluetooth module. You can display
the versions and confirm them.
! Each device featuring Bluetooth wireless
technology is allocated a unique 48-bit de-
vice address. Each device address consists
of a 12-digit of hexadecimal string.

Each time you operate according to Function
compatibility charts the information changes
in the following order:
BD (Bluetooth Device) address—Device name
(PIONEER)—System version—Bluetooth mod-
ule version
# On your cellular phone, you can confirm the
device name of this unit as Pioneer BT unit.
