Apply Plumbers Putty.

1. Install the Valve Body
NOTE: Apply a thread sealant where applicable.
Thread one supply nipple into the supply outlet in the wall.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant to backside of
the flange according to the putty manufacturer's instructions.
Slide the flange onto and over the supply nipple until it is snug
against the finished wall. Secure with the flange setscrew.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.
Rotate the valve body clamp to point straight out from the left
side of the valve body. Secure with a screw.
Slide the bell shaped flange onto the valve body holder. Do not
secure with the flange setscrew at this time.
Thread the valve body assembly onto the supply nipple. Ensure
that the valve body assembly is vertically aligned.
Slide the bell shaped flange down the holder until it is snug
against the finished wall. Secure with one flange setscrew and
two wall screws.
