Lower muffler – Lower the muffler by removing (3) rubber isolator hangers
from the hanger rods. (Be sure to support exhaust to prevent damage)
Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber
isolator eases removal.
Trim driverside underbody panel – Using a utility knife or other suitable
cutting tool trim the driverside underbody panel as shown in Figure 1, be sure
to leave the forwardmost bolt hole on the upper portion for re-attachment.

Remove underbody panels – Using a flat screw driver, remove push pin rivets
located at the lower edge of the fascia. Using a 10mm socket remove plastic
nut located at the upper portion of the underbody panel, remove underbody
panel. Repeat for other side.
Trim fascia - Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, cut a notch in the
lower part of the fascia approximately 2-1/2" wide x 3" deep, centered on
vehicle as shown. See Figure 2. NOTE: There is rigid plastic on the inside of
the fascia trim area that will be difficult to cut, a hacksaw or other suitable tool
may be needed for this area.
