Problem

Troubleshooting
Possible Cause
No electricity
Plug inserted incorrectly
Circuit breaker is tripped
Blocked impeller
Damaged motor
Pump has overheated
Float switch is preventing
pump turning on
Pump full of air
Obstructed inlet
Obstructed pipe/outlet
Worn impeller
Solid particles prevent the
free rotation of the impeller
The temperature of the fluid
is too high
Faulty motor
Inlet assembly not tight
enough
Remedy
Check that the electricity supply is turned
on and that the pump is correctly plugged
in
Reset electricity supply.
If the circuit breaker trips once more
contact a specialised electrician
Unplug from the electricity supply and
remove possible obstructions from the
impeller (Figs 8 & 9)

Pump contains thermal protection - check
if pump case is hot, and if so, allow to
cool
The pump will only work when the float
switch is in the upright position, ensure
that is is able to reach the vertical
position
Unplug from the electricity supply and
disconnect outlet hose, submerge in
water and allow air to escape, re-connect
hose and power
Follow cleaning instructions detailed in
maintenance section (Figs 8 &9)
Remove obstructions in inlet hose or kinks
and clean out filter
