Operating Instructions
Preserve Vehicle Memory and Presets
(Connected via Integrated OBDII Cord)
Note: Make sure that the Memory Saver is fully charged prior to using it for this
purpose to ensure it has enough reserve capacity to accomplish its task.
1. The Memory Saver's integrated OBDII cable exits the unit from the rear case
and is stored in a storage pocket on the back of the unit. To access the OBDII
cable, remove the storage pocket door. Once the cable has been pulled out of the
storage pocket, the storage pocket door should be put back into place, with the
cable exiting through the hole at the top of the door.
2. Prior to using, verify all vehicle loads and accessories are OFF. To prevent
damage, do not use Memory Saver if vehicle's current draw is 4 amps or more
when the vehicle is OFF.
Note: Vehicle systems often cycle after the vehicle is turned off. Cycling
places demands on the vehicle's electrical system. Before using the
Memory Saver, turn the vehicle OFF and wait for 25 minutes. Doing so
will ensure that all vehicle cycling is completed (most vehicles).
3. Connect the Memory Saver's OBDII cable to the vehicle's OBDII port. Make sure
the connection is secure.
4. Press the Power Button
get a Green 100% charged light indicating the unit is ready for service. If you get
a ~75% charged light, you will have only a limited amount of reserve capacity to
work with. The unit should be recharged. If the red LED (<50%) is lit or no LED
lights, recharge the unit immediately.
5. Disconnect the vehicle's battery cable terminals and replace the battery.
Note: To prevent short circuit and loss of vehicle memory, do not allow
vehicle's disconnected battery cables to touch each other or a vehicle
ground.
