OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
• Before use, read and understand all warnings, safety precautions, and instructions as outlined in the vehicle manufacturer's service
manual. It is beyond the scope of this manual to properly describe the correct procedure and test data for each vehicle
• Always Wear Appropriate Safety Gear (ANSI Approved Hand, Eye and Ear Protection)
• Ensure Working Area Has Adequate Lighting, and is Clean, Dry and Clear of Unrelated Materials.
• Clean Any Fluid Spills Immediately
• DO NOT Allow Children, Unauthorized Persons or Untrained Persons in Work Area
• Always Follow Local Laws and Regulations for Disposal of Used / Wasted Fluids and or Parts
Vehicle Preparation Procedure
1. Place Vehicle in "Park"
2. Securely Place Wheel Chocks Under Rear Wheels When Working on or Lifting the Front of the Vehicle. Securely Place Wheel Chocks Under
Front Wheels When Working on or Lifting the Rear of the Vehicle. (This Step is Not Required When Using an Approved Automotive Service
Lift).
3. Slightly Loosen the Lug Nuts and the Center Hub Axle Retaining Nut. (If Equipped with Dust Cover Over CV Axle Spindle Nut It Will be
Necessary to Remove at This Point of the Service / Repair Procedure).
4. Raise Vehicle with Suitable Automotive Jack and Place Jack stands at Manufacturer's Recommended jacking Points. (See Manufacturer's
Service Manual for Approved Lifting / Jacking Points).
5. Completely Remove all Lug Nuts and Whee.l
6. Remove CV Axle Nut Cotter Pin (if Equipped).
7. Remove Axle Retaining Nut from Threaded End of CV Axle. (Many CV Axle Nuts Have Been Staked in the Channel of the Axle and will Require
the Operator to Un-Stake the Retaining Nut Using a Hammer and Punch or Other Suitable Tool Prior to Removal.)

8. Remove the Brake Caliper and Set Aside or Hang in a Safe Place Away from Working Area Ensuring No Damage Comes to The Caliper, Brake
Line or Related Components.
9. Disconnect Strut Assembly from Lower Control Arm and Swing Away the CV Axle, Secure with Tie Wire or Other Suitable Tie Strap to Prevent
