(GB) INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY OF KONI SUSPENSION KITS - GENERAL
INSTRUCTIONS
Important general information on the use of original KONI Suspension Kits
KONI manufactures a great number of different suspension kit components, which for a part bear a strong
resemblance to each other. Mounting and using such components on unsuitable vehicles may lead to serious
damage to the vehicle or to personal injury. Always check your KONI kit with the TÜV certificate to see if all
specifications are correct and if the KONI kit is suitable your vehicle.
The same is recommended for wheel and tyre sizes which have not been authorized by the manufacturer.
Always check the information with relation to type of vehicle and model most carefully in our TÜV certificate or
product list. Consult your KONI dealer or a qualified specialist garage (official dealer), whenever you are in
doubt whether the product offered to you is suitable for your vehicle.
Important instructions for the assembly of original KONI Suspension Kits
The (dis)assembly of KONI suspension kit components may lead to damage to the vehicle or to personal injury
if not carried out by qualified personnel. Therefore, we recommend to have the (dis)assembly carried out by a
qualified specialist garage. Only a qualified garage will have the required specialized equipment.
For the(dis)assembly the vehicle must be placed on a hydraulic lift. If, for whatever reason, the vehicle is to
be lifted by means of a car lift, it must always be properly secured against rolling away.
Please, pay attention to the following when carrying out (dis)assembly:
1
All damaged or defective parts must be replaced.
2
All disassembled parts, if not replaced by KONI components, must be re-assembled and tested at least
twice.
3
After (dis)assembly the following tests and adjustments must be carried out:
Clearance of wheel and tyre combinations
Alignement and axle adjustments
Braking (control) systems
Omission of these tests and adjustment procedures may lead to disfunction of the systems at issue and
consequently to serious damages.
The assembly of KONI suspension kit components will affect the driving characteristics of your vehicle.
Therefore, always drive carefully and slowly until you have become accustomed to the modified driving
characteristics of your vehicle.
In order to prevent any damages, always follow the following instructions:
1
Never overload your vehicle. The manufacturer's instructions with respect to wheel loads must always
be complied with.
2
Avoid unusual, aggressive driving manoeuvres that involve excessive use (e.g. racing conditions etc.).
3
Always comply with speed limit regulations.
4
Avoid off-road driving or driving on unimproved roads; in restricted traffic areas adjust your speed to
local circumstances (ramps etc., less ground clearance).
The KONI suspension kit components are only meant for use on vehicles cleared for use on public
roads that comply with all traffic regulations. Any other application is emphatically advised against as it
may lead to serious damages.
