Troubleshooting:
• NB:
Read this summary through carefully before
summoning technical assistance - you may be able to
solve the problem yourself.
1 If the system is not working correctly, switch off at
the mains.
2 Wait for a few seconds before switching back on.
The system will reset itself automatically and start
up with factory settings.
• The gong does not react and the "on" indicator is off.
– Check whether there is power to the adapter -
check the plug and fuses. Check whether there is
a voltage at terminals 3 and 4 (9-11 V ac) of the
central unit.
• The gong does not react and the "on" indicator is on.
– Loudspeaker is off - press "speaker" button - see
"Adjustment of central unit".
– Check adjustment of sensor - see "Adjustment of
sensor".
• PIR sensor does not activate central unit.
– Check that the "on" indicator is on.
– Check channel 1 - short-circuit terminals 5 and 6 of
central unit briefly. The central unit is defective if
the sound from channel 1 is not played.
– Short-circuit terminals 8 and 9 of central unit briefly.
The central unit is defective if the sound from
channel 2 is not played.
– If the central unit does not react, the fault should
be sought in the connected sensor - open the
sensor, remove the connecting plug and measure
whether there is voltage at the plug (9-12 V DC). If
there is no voltage, check the wires between the
sensor and central unit - see "Wire connections".
– Short-circuit the sensor plug briefly and activate
the central unit.
The sensor is defective.
• IR sensor does not activate central unit.
– Check that "on" indicator is on.
– Check channel 1 - short-circuit terminals 5 and 6 of
central unit briefly. The central unit is defective if
the sound from channel 1 is not played.
– Short-circuit terminals 8 and 9 of central unit
briefly. The central unit is defective if the sound
from channel 2 is not played.
– If the sensor reacts, the fault should be sought in
the connected sensor - measure whether there is
voltage at the connection terminals (9-12 V DC). If
there is no voltage, check the wires between the
sensor and central unit - see "Wire connections".
– Short-circuit the connection terminals briefly and
the central unit is activated.
– Check whether the sensor is adjusted correctly -
check that the reflector is undamaged and the
sensor is arranged so that the reflector is hit - the
control lamp in the sensor must be off. Cover the
reflector by pushing a piece of paper in front of it -
the control lamp will come on and the central unit
will be activated. If not, the sensor is defective.
• The gong does not react when the manual button for
channel 1 or channel 2 is activated.
– Check the wire connections between the central
unit and the button - short-circuit the relevant
button briefly and the central unit is activated. If
the central unit does not react, short-circuit
terminals 6 and 7 (channel 1) or terminals 9 and 10
(channel 2) on the central unit briefly. No reaction
means that the central unit is defective.
• Extra transducer does not react.
– Check that the loudspeaker is on - see "Adjustment
of central unit". Check the wires between the extra
transducer and thecentral unit.
– Disconnect the wires to terminals 1 and 2 of the
extra transducer - measure the resistance of the
loudspeaker (8-9 ohms) with an ohmmeter. If other
values are measured, the transducer must be replaced
Maintenance:
NB: Switch off at mains before cleaning.
a) Central unit
Pull the covers off the housing. Remove dust
carefully with a vacuum cleaner. Assemble the
central unit again. Use a cloth dampened with
clean water or water mixed with ordinary detergent.
Never use a solvent of any sort.
b) Sensor
For external cleaning use a cloth dampened with
water mixed with ordinary detergent.
We recommend wiping the sensor once a year in
the case of normal use. In dusty environments it
may be necessary to do this more frequently to
ensure optimum detection.
