Disinfecting
Prior to disinfection, first clean the cable and detachable shield according
to the instructions provided above. To avoid long term damage to the
cable, we recommend that you disinfect the cable only when necessary as
determined by your hospital's policy, disinfecting it with one of the
substances listed below, following the manufacturer's instructions. Never
immerse or soak the cable. Do not allow the disinfectant to remain on the
cable or the detachable shield – remove it immediately by wiping with a
cloth dampened with water.

Sterilizing
We recommend that you sterilize only when necessary as determined by
your hospital's policy, to avoid long term damage to the cable. We also
recommend that the cable and detachable shield be cleaned first (see
Cleaning in this IFU).
Be sure that all safety precautions regarding aeration after Ethylene Oxide
(EtO) gas sterilization exposure are followed.
