light up on the display (H) the nearer you get to an acupuncture
point. Use the tip to look for the point until the acoustic signal is
highest and a maximum of LEDs light up.
PLEASE NOTE
Occasionally, acupuncture points may be located very close to
each other. To find the proper point for the therapy you desire, use
the application examples in the back of the instruction manual or
in the companion book for orientation, or use additional literature
on acupuncture.
Manual therapy
Once you have found the acupuncture point, press the stimulation
button (C) using the index or middle finger and hold. The acoustic
signal will stop and the LED (B) will start to flash; the first LED
on the display (H) will always flash simultaneously. You are
now treating the acupuncture point with the lowest amperage.
If you want to increase the intensity, we recommend keeping
the acupuncture tip on the point and changing the intensity
settings (D). As soon as you let go of the stimulation button (C),
stimulation will stop and the device will return to the detection
mode. This means you determine yourself how long the electrical
impulses are sent.
Therapy with automatic time settings
An internal clock can be used to set the Promed ACP device
to 30 seconds or 60 seconds of stimulation time via the time
selector button (M). This new time setting will be maintained
until it is reset by pressing the time selector button (M) again or
switching off the device. In the basic settings, when switching
on the device, the manual mode is always enabled initially.
Prior to the detection of the acupuncture point, press the time
selector button (M) to select the desired time: press once for
30 seconds and again for 60 seconds. The LEDs (G) indicate
which setting has been selected. Detect the acupuncture point
and briefly press the stimulation button (C) once. The LED (B)
and the first LED on the display (H) will start to flash. Since you
do not need to keep the stimulation button (C) pressed, you can
comfortably apply slight pressure to the acupuncture point with
the device. Once the set time has elapsed, the device will return
to the detection mode. As the time settings are maintained, you
can stimulate the point for the same pre-set time by again pressing
the stimulation button (C) briefly.
Changing the intensity
When switching on the Promed ACP device, it is always set to
the lowest intensity level. For certain acupuncture applications,
however, higher intensities may be required. You can change
the application intensity prior to or during stimulation. It is
recommended, however, to adjust the intensity only during
stimulation, as different regions of the body may display different
sensitivities and some people may be more sensitive to electrical
current than others. With the device switched on, press the
