10 The colour of the status light will indicate the water temperature.

• If the water temperature is below 70°C, the status light will not glow.
• If the water temperature is already at or over the temperature you set, nothing will happen
– the water is ready to use.
11 The status light will flash till the water reaches the set temperature, then glow steadily.
12 The colour of the status light will change with the temperature of the water in the kettle.
13 When it reaches the set temperature, the light in the button will go off.
14 To switch off manually, press the button again.
, Reducing the temperature may take a long time – you may prefer to pour the hot water away,
and refill with cold water.
C GENERAL
15 To avoid the risk of splashing, pour slowly and don't over-tilt the kettle.
16 You may notice discolouration on the floor of the kettle. Don't worry – this is due to the
bonding of the element to the kettle floor.
1F USING WITH INSUFFICIENT WATER
17 This will shorten the life of the element. A boil-dry cut-out will switch the kettle off.
18 To reset the cut-out, remove the kettle from the stand and leave it till it goes cold before
replacing it on the stand.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
19 Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool before cleaning.
20 Wipe the kettle, inside and out, with a damp cloth
21 Open the lid.
22 Push the hook on top of the filter down, then lift the filter out of the kettle.
23 Rinse the filter under a running tap while brushing with a soft brush.
24 Lower the filter into the kettle, and engage the bottom hook in the bottom of the spout.
25 Press the top of the filter towards the kettle, to lock the hook in place.
26 Close the lid.
Descale regularly, (at least monthly).
27 Descale the appliance at least monthly with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on
the package of descaler.
