also emitted and the green diode is lit. In case of resistance higher than 30 Ω, the meter tests the diodes. The display
shows the value of the conduction voltage or the symbol "OL" if the diode is tested in the reversed direction. It is
absolutely forbidden to test diodes or conductivity of the measured system through which electric current
is fl owing.
Battery test
Connect the test leads to the jacks marked VΩmAμA and COM. Set the knob to the position corresponding to the
rated battery voltage. Apply the tips of the test leads to the battery terminals, bearing in mind the correct polarity.
The battery voltage will be shown on the display. A good battery will show a higher voltage than the rated voltage.
Frequency measurement
Connect the test leads to the jacks marked VΩmAμA and COM. Set the knob on the measurement of alternating
voltage or AC. Press the "Hz" button, the display shows the value of the measured signal frequency. Pressing the "Hz"
button again to return to the display of the measured voltage or current.
Measurement of wire phase
Connect only one test lead to the jack marked VΩmAμA. Set the knob to the "Live" position, this will be confi rmed
by the "Live" display indicator and the "----" symbol will be displayed. Apply the test lead tip to a wire through which
alternating current can fl ow. If the cable is live, the display shows "LIVE", the meter emits a sound and two red LEDs
light up.
Contactless alternating voltage detection
The meter has a sensor that is able to detect the electromagnetic fi eld generated by alternating voltage. Move the
knob to the NCV position, this will be confi rmed by the "NCV" display indicator and the "----" symbol . Bring closer the
NCV sensor on the front of the meter to the location to be checked for electromagnetic fi elds. If a fi eld of low intensity
is detected, the meter will display the "---L" symbol, the green LED lights up and a pulsating sound is emitted. If a high
intensity electromagnetic fi eld is detected, the meter displays the "---H" symbol, the red LED lights up and a pulsating
sound is emitted at a higher frequency than if a low intensity fi eld is detected. This measurement can be used, for
example, to detect hidden alternating voltage wires. However, it should be remembered that such measurement is
infl uenced by many external factors and may be interfered with by external electromagnetic fi elds. Do not rely solely
on this method to detect live wires.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Wipe the meter with a soft cloth. Larger amounts of dirt should be removed with a slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse
the product in water or any other liquid. Do not use solvents, corrosive or abrasive agents for cleaning. Care should
be taken to keep the contacts of the meter and the test leads clean. Clean the contacts of the test leads with a cloth
slightly soaked in isopropyl alcohol. In order to clean the contacts of the meter, turn off the meter and remove the
battery. Turn the meter over and shake it gently so that larger pieces of dirt fall out of the meter connectors. Lightly
soak a cotton stick with isopropyl alcohol and clean each contact. Wait until the alcohol evaporates, then install the
battery. The meter should be stored in a dry room in the supplied unit packaging.
