Percent of Charge
The percent of charge scale is intended as a visual aid to help simplify
reading the state of charge. The percent of charge is based on the current
drawn by the battery. For this reason, accuracy will vary with the size and
battery type. This means that the indication for a fully charged large battery
may be slightly less than 100%.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

accordance with the assembly instructions before it is used.
Charging
1.
Ensure that all of the charger components are in place and in good working
condition, for example, the plastic boots on the battery clips.
2.
Connect the battery following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7.
3.
Connect the AC power following the precautions listed in section 8. Make
sure to place the charger on a dry, non-flammable surface like metal or
concrete.
4.
Select the appropriate voltage setting for your battery.
5.
Turn the charger on by selecting a charge rate.
6.
To disconnect, reverse the above procedure.
When a manual charge is performed, the charger will continue to charge and
will not shut off. You must keep a visual check on the ammeter to determine
when the battery is charged. Be sure to monitor the charging process and stop
it when the battery is charged. Not doing so may cause damage to your battery
or result in other property damage or personal injury.

CALCULATING CHARGE TIME

The Hydrometer or Electronic Method
To find the time needed to fully charge your battery, determine the battery's
charge level with a hydrometer or electronic Percent-of-Charge Tester. The
following table will help you convert hydrometer readings to percent of charge
values.

When you know the percent of charge and the Amp Hour (AH) rating of your
battery, you can calculate the approximate time needed to bring your battery to
a full charge.
To convert Reserve Capacity to Amp Hours, divide Reserve Capacity by 2, and
add 16:
