other applications, with other tools or is not maintained sufficient-
ly prior to operation, however, the vibration and noise load may be
higher when the tool is used.
Take into account any machine idling times and downtimes to esti-
mate these values more accurately for a specified time period. This
may significantly reduce the load during the machine operating
period.

Intended use

ASV 108-2 Cordless drill screwdriver is designed for screwing and
drilling into soft construction materials (wooden or plastic based)
or rarely into metals.
User takes full responsibility for any consequences arising form use
other than the intended use.

Double insulation

To ensure maximum safety of the user our tools are designed and
built to satisfy applicable European standards (EN standards). Tools
with double insulation are marked by the international symbol of
a double square. These tools must not be grounded and a two-wire
cable is sufficient to supply them with power. Tools are shielded in
accordance with EN 55014.

Charging battery pack instructions

1/ Please make sure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate
complies with the main power supply. Connect the charg-
er (10) to main power supply. Red LED indicator light turns
on (11). That indicates the charger is ready. If the red LED in-
dicator light does not turn on, check the connection to main
power supply. If main power supply works properly, please
bring the charger to the authorized service point!
2/ Insert the battery (1) fully into the charger.
3/ When the red LED indicator light turns off and LED indicator
light (11) starts flashing, the battery is in the mode of „fast
charging".
4/ In 25 minutes, when the battery has been fully charged, the
green LED indicator will be constantly on.
5/ Slide the battery out of the charger. If you do  not intend to
charge another battery, disconnect the charger from power
supply.

* After connecting the charger to main power supply, the green and red LED indi-
cator lights flash briefly and then only red LED indicator light remains on.
New batteries:
During first charging cycles, new batteries may have lower than
the rated capacity. The reason is that the chemical composition of
batteries has not been activated yet. This is only a temporary status
which becomes steady after several cycles.
Note:
• If the green indicator light is on, it indicates either the slow
charging mode or that the battery has been fully charged.
• Depending on the ambient temperature, main power supply
and current charged status, the initial charging may take more
than 25 minutes.
• When the charger is not used, disconnect it from main power
supply.
Important notes for charging:
1/ To achieve the longest possible service life and the best per-
formance of batteries, please charge them at a  temperature
range of 18–24 °C. Please DO  NOT charge batteries below
meaning of signal
combinations

high temperature of

battery is damaged
freezing point or above 45 °C. You can prevent a serious dam-
age to batteries.
• Do not charge batteries in the direct sunlight, especially in the
summer! It will prevent the overheating which could result in
their damage!
2/ If you insert a cold battery (<0 °C) into the charger, green and
red LED indicator light will start flashing intermittently and
the process of charging will be delayed. When the complying
temperature has been reached naturally, the automatic fast
charging begins.
• If you insert a hot battery (>45 °C) into the charger, green and
red LED indicator light will start flashing intermittently and the
process of charging will be delayed. When the complying tem-
perature has been reached naturally, automatic fast charging
begins.
3/ If batteries cannot be charged properly (red indicator light is
flashing):
• Check contacts for dirt. Should there be any, clean it with a cot-
ton swab and alcohol.
• If charging problems still persist, ship or bring the device (in-
cluding batteries) to the nearest authorized service point.
4/ Under specific circumstances, when connected to a  pow-
er supply, the charging contacts inside the charger can be
short-circuited by foreign materials. Keep the charger clean
from foreign conductive materials (e.g. steel wool, aluminium
foil or deposit of metal particles). Disconnect the charger from
power supply before cleaning.
5/ After several cycles, the charger may become hot. It is quite
normal and does not indicate any malfunction.
6/ Prevent the penetration of liquid into the charger which could
lead to bodily damage by electric shock. To facilitate the cool-
ing of batteries after use, do not put them into warm environ-
ment.
7/ If you leave batteries in the charger, you do not have to worry
about damaging them or the charger itself. Batteries will re-
main fully charged. DO  NOT KEEP fully charged batteries in
the charger disconnected from power supply.
8/ DO NOT USE damaged or leaking batteries. If you spill the leak
on your skin, wash it immediately with plenty of water and ob-
serve potential reaction. If necessary, seek out medical advice.
9/ If you charge battery which is not flat or if you end the charg-
ing cycle prematurely, you should consider it a  full charging
cycle.
Note about Li-Ion batteries
• This type of batteries does not suffer from memory effect thus
allowing to be charged in any state. If you remove batteries
from the charger prematurely, it does not result in any dam-
age.
• Li-Ion batteries are equipped with over-discharge protection.
In case of potential drop (caused by overload or discharge)
below the observable limit, cells will be disconnected by elec-
tronics. The device will still perform then or will cease to work
completely. You will have to reduce the load or recharge the
battery.
Accumulator storage
Please keep the batteries fully charged and in the dry and dust-free
areas in a  temperature range of 5–40 °C. During prolonged non-
use periods, it is recommended to recharge the batteries regularly
at 3-month intervals.
Warning!!
Do not service the charger on your own. There are no serviceable
components inside the charger. Please hand over the charger to
the nearest authorized service to prevent the damage of inner
components (e.g. those sensitive to static electricity).
Always use the correct battery set (supplied with the equipment or
the spare set recommended by Narex s.r.o.). Do not use any other
battery set, as it could result in the damage to your equipment or
induce a dangerous condition.
