6. How to use your thermometer

When you use the thermometer for the first time, please insert the batteries.

in contact, press and hold the measuring button and move the
thermometer across the string to the temple, then release the
button, the beep is heard, you can now read the value.
NOTE: Face measurement is an indicative measurement. The measured forehead temperature can
deviate up to 0.5°C / 1°F from your actual body temperature. Please note the factors that influence the
accuracy as described in the chapters „Notes on temperature measurement" and „Warnings and
precautions".
If the eyebrow area is covered with hair, sweat or dirt, please clean this area beforehand
f
to improve the reading accuracy.
Always check that the lens is clean.
f
Always make sure that the user and the thermometer have been in the same room for
f
at least 30 minutes before measuring.

6.2 Take your ear temperature

Remove the probe cover and insert the measuring head closely into the ear canal. Press the measure
button for one second, the beep confirms the measurement. You can now read the value.
Please make sure that the ear is clean, without earwax or blockages.
f
The measured value for the right ear may differ from that for the left ear.
f
Therefore always measure the temperature in the same ear.
f
Children under 1 year of age: Pull the ear straight back. Children aged 1 year to adult: Pull
f
the ear up and back.
When taking the temperature on an adult, pull the ear carefully up and back to ensure
f
that the ear canal is straight so that the temperature sensor can receive an infrared
beam from the eardrum.
Do not force the thermometer into the ear canal. Doing so could damage the ear canal.
f
Be careful when taking the temperature in a child whose ear canal is small.
