Should there sound a special warning tone right after the rear parking assistant activation,
one of the sensors has been disconnected or damaged. This error state is indicated by the
number of short beeps following the warning tone:
1 beep
one corner sensor PIN 11, 23 or PIN 12, 24 is defective
2 beeps
one central sensor PIN 10, 22 or PIN 9, 21 is defective
3 beeps
multiple sensors are defective
To distinguish which of the corner/central sensors is faulty (1 beep/2 beeps), follow the below
steps:
- Disconnect one corner/central sensor and then activate the parking assistant.
- If 1 beep/2 beeps sound, the disconnected sensor is faulty.
- If 3 beeps sound, the disconnected sensor is OK and the faulty one is connected to the unit.
- In case of need, spare sensors can be ordered from the ŠKODA spare parts catalogue.
Warning
The capacity of the system to detect obstacles depends upon their material and their
shape!
The acoustic signalling during backing does not exempt the driver from responsibility for
damages inflicted when parking the vehicle and in similar manoeuvres.
Therefore, before backing make sure that there is no obstacle of smaller size behind your
vehicle (e.g. a stone, a thin pillar, draught pole of a trailer etc.). Such an obstacle could be
located out of the sensed area.
Advice. If a trailer is attached, the parking assistant does not deacti-
vate (beeping of the parking sensors indicates the trailer as an
obstacle).
