TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

f
ixing A mAlfunCtion
A malfunction may be caused by a minor problem that you can solve yourself with
the help of the instructions below. Before calling a technician, perform the following
checks:
1.
Your freezer does not work:
Check:
That it is properly connected;
That the circuit breaker has not been tripped;
That the wall outlet is working properly.
2.
The freezer is too cold:
The temperature setting is too low.
3.
The freezer is not cold enough:
You may have put some hot food or a large amount of food in the freezer.
The door may not be properly closed or may have been left open for too long.
The door seals may be damaged.
The temperature setting may not be properly adjusted.
The appliance is located near a heat source.
4) The freezer door is difficult to open:
You may find it hard to open a freezer door that has just been closed. When the door
is opened, the cold air that escapes from the cabinet is replaced by air at room tem-
perature. When this warm air cools, the pressure inside decreases forming a vacuum
that makes it difficult to open the door. After a few minutes, the pressure inside the
freezer will return to normal and you can easily open the door.
If the information above does not help you resolve your specific problem, do not
attempt to repair the appliance yourself; contact your retailer's after-sales depart-
ment.
IMPORTANT: repairs to your appliance should only be performed by qualified
service technicians. Poor repairs can be hazardous to users and are not covered
by the warranty.

n CAse of prolonged AbsenCe or non
Turn the thermostat knob to the MIN mark.
Unplug, empty, defrost and clean the appliance.
Keep the door ajar to prevent odours from forming.
i
n CAse of power fAilure
If the breakdown does not last very long, there is no risk of your food spoiling.
However, do not open the door (the time for the temperature to rise decreases
significantly if the appliance is nearly empty).
If the power failure is prolonged, transfer the frozen products to another freezer.
The operating autonomy of your appliance is indicated in the paragraph «Product
sheet».
As soon as you notice any thawing, the food must be consumed as quickly as
possible.
Thawed products must never be refrozen (unless it has been cooked in the
meantime).
n
oises when running
The following noises are typical for refrigerating appliances:
Clicking
When the compressor starts or stops, there is a clicking sound.
Whirring
When the compressor is running, you hear it purring.
Gurgling/splashing
When refrigerant flows into the narrow tubes, gurgling and splashing can be heard.
Even after the compressor stops, these noises continue for a short time.
