WARNING

► Do not switch off the respiratory protective device while the hood is still
being worn.
1. Taking off the hood:
a. Grip the donning/doffing loops.
b. First pull the hood over the chin and then over the head.
2. If necessary, clean and disinfect the hood (see "Cleaning and disinfecting",
page 13).

5.1
Cleaning and disinfecting
CAUTION
Potential damage to component parts!
► For cleaning and disinfecting only apply the described procedures and use
the specified cleaning agents and disinfectants. Other agents and
procedures, dosages and exposure times can damage component parts.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
► The undiluted agents are damaging to health if they come into direct contact
with the eyes or skin. Wear goggles and protective gloves when working
with these agents.

8000 Hoods
How to proceed with a standard hood:
1. Prepare a cleaning solution containing water and a cleaning agent.
2. Clean hood with cleaning solution and rinse with clean water.
3. Wipe hood dry or let it dry in the air. Keep away from direct sunlight.
How to proceed with a premium hood:
1. Prepare a cleaning solution containing water and a cleaning agent.
2. Clean all parts with the cleaning solution using a soft cloth.
3. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water.
4. Prepare a disinfectant bath of water and a disinfecting agent.
5. Place all parts to be disinfected into the disinfectant bath.
6. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water.
7. Allow all parts to air-dry or dry them in the drying cabinet (temperature: max.
60 °C). Keep away from direct sunlight.

Maintenance work
5.2.1
Replacing the sweatband

1. Remove old sweatband from support ring.
2. Fasten a new sweatband on the hooks of the support ring.
5.2.2
Replacing the protective foil

1. If present, remove the old protective foil.
2. If necessary, wipe visor with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth.
3. Pull off protective paper from the adhesive tape of the new protective foil
(figure D-1).
4. Depending on the type of hood, align the recesses in the protective foil
(standard hood) or the upper edge of the foil (premium hood) with the upper
edge of the visor.
5. Stick the new protective foil on the visor.
6. Pull off transport foil from protective foil (figure D-2).
