Connecting with amplifiers

Precautions when making connections
o After completing all other connections, plug the power plug into a power outlet .
o Read the owner's manuals of all devices that will be connected, and follow their instructions .
The polarity of the XLR connec-
tors can be set so that either 2 or
3 is HOT (page 26) .
When connected to an amplifier
capable of volume adjustment,
set the analog audio output
level setting (L_VOL>) of the unit
to FIX, and use the amplifier to
adjust the volume (page 29) .

Analog audio output (LINE OUT) connectors
These output 2-channel analog audio . Connect the XLR or RCA
connectors to an amplifier .
Use commercially-available cables for connections.
ESL-A/XLR, ESL-A PRE OUT: XLR cables
RCA: RCA cables
Connect an R connector on this unit to an R connector on the
amplifier, and connect the corresponding unit L connector to
the corresponding amp L connector .
Change the analog audio output setting (page 26) and
analog audio output level setting (page 29) according
to the connectors being used.
o The analog audio output setting can be set to XLR (polarity
HOT for pin 2 or 3), RCA or ESLA (page 26) .
o When connecting this unit with an amplifier that has ES-LINK
Analog (ESL-A) connectors, we recommend connecting
the analog audio output (ESL-A) connectors on this unit
to the ES-LINK Analog (ESL-A) connectors on the amplifier
(page 9) .

connectors to prevent accidental connection with XLR output
